Dragomir Lajšić was born in a village named Svodna, near the city Novi Grad in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has been living in Belgrade since 1954, where he completed his high school and university education. He was empoyed in Belgrade waterworks. Since 1966, he had been working as a tourist guide for several Belgrade tourist agencies, until 1976. Most od his journies were to Italy and Turkey.
As a tourist guide, he also visited other countries: Spain, Soviet union, countries in Middle east and others.
In 1992 he became a member of the Society for Serbian-German cooperation, where he was a member of the steering commitee and the vice-president of the Society.
In cooperation with Serbian ambassador from Bonn, he took part in founding of The Yugoslav economy center in Dusseldorf, in 1996. The purpose of the Center was to gather Serbian businessmen, that lived and worked in Germany.
He took part in publication of two anthology books: ‘’Serbs about Germans’’ and ’’Serbs about the distinct Germans’’. These anthologies have imagological character and are not common in literature. In these two books, distinct Serbian writers, scientists and artists tell their opinion and impressions of German people. That presents a solid base for better mutual understanding. Promotion of these books was well supported by the media, especially by Belgrade radio and television.
Lajšić took part in promoting of "The gospel of Miroslav", the phototypic publication, that was mostly bought by distinct world libraries.
Since 2001, he has been retired and has been writing the book “The sultans of Turkey“.
